  Martin leads the tour groups on 600cc Hondas. Just the ticket for the, sometimes, mountainous terrain, typically, assembling in the morning at 9.30 and returning around 5.30.

  If you've been to Gran Canaria before and visited the main tourist areas one might get the impression that the place is a 'one trick pony' and no different to the other islands in the archipelago. Riding into the mountains is like discovering Eldorado. It's such a contrast.

  What appears on a map as a small circular in shape island is dramatically different once the mountains are encountered. Twisting roads, switchback hairpins, sweeping vistas and wonderful villages to meander through and take in the local fauna and flora.

  I first rode with Canary Motorcycle Tours a bit over three years ago. The first point of contact was Joy who is a delight, if not a joy, to deal with. At that time, she organised everything on the island to make my stay the enjoyable one it was: I stayed for a week. It was so good that when I returned home I booked again for three weeks!
